The bible says as you mentioned in your post that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19. We cannot afford to dishonour our bodies through intoxication. The Bible also says we are to be sober minded many times and that although we have freedom in Christ, we are not to be conformed to the world and mastered by anything. Romans 12:2, 1 Corinthians 6:12.
